What are spectrophotometers?
Spectrophotometers are optical measuring devices that irradiate a product with light in the visible wavelength range. The diffusely reflected or transmitted light is received by a detector and broken down into its spectral components in the range from 390 nm to 720 nm. Defined mathematical procedures are applied to the spectrum obtained in this way. These then provide the color values of the product. There are a variety of color spaces for color measurements. The most common is the CIE L*, a* and b* color space. Our color measurements work with this color space.
